Miley Cyrus has been promoting her new single this month and in the last few months we’ve seen a lot of her on the red carpet, at music events, television appearances and candid shots; and all are showing off her newfound love for the classic noir et blanc look, with monochrome outfits and a splash of colour. Naturally her now-signature short blonde hairdo is adding to the fabulous looks. Here are some classic new Miley-era outfits and pieces that Killer Fashion loves. 
Stripes For Days
Miley’s love for monochromatic stripes is evident in her Marc Jacobs striped short suit, on the release day of We Can’t Stop. She wore this grey & white striped short suit on the day, but has also worn the tailored blazer in black & white at the launch party for the Projects Book with Brian Bowen Smith. Miley has also worn this cute On Time Top by Necessary Clothing, a cute bow bralet with black & white stripes. And Miley’s also a fan of striped trousers, having worn Marc Jacobs striped pants and also Motel Skinny Jordan Jeans. Jumpsuits seem to be a favourite style of Miley’s, and she wore her striped look to the Ryan Seacrest Foundation in March, wearing a wide-legged navy & white striped Chanel Spring 2013. Lastly I totally love Miley’s dress choice, donning an ASOS Maxi Dress with cut out shoulders. This dress also features an open back with top ties and contrasting stripes.
Rock’n’Roll
Miley’s new music era is showing off her rock chick within, reflected in all the leather and gold pieces she’s been sporting. As of late Miley has often worn her Simone by Katie Nehra Spike-Studded Leather Jacket, most notably with leather basketball shorts by Alexander Wang, to Pharrell’s birthday party in April. Miley has also worn Balenciaga Motorcycle Jacket with gorgeous quilted detail, Maison Martin Magiela Moto Jacket and a cropped leather jacket with a buckle waistbelt and gold accents, which she wore to the Rachel Zoe Fall 2013 Show during Fashion Week in NYC. One of Miley’s most metal & leather ensembles was at the VH1 Divas concert, where she performed Rebel Yell (which you can watch here), donning an off-the-shoulder midriff top with all-over studs by Norma Kamali, with Pierre Balmain Leather Trousers, and a sleeves & shoulder leather ‘jacket’ adorned with spikes & studs on the shoulders and elbow. While out and about, Miley donned a cute Maison Martin Magiela leather tshirt, which I absolutely love! And lastly Miley’s beloved T by Alexander Wang is the leather bralet she’s been wearing on many an occasion.
Jumpsuits Galore
The red carpet and all events alike have also been graced by Miley’s love for monochrome, but also debut her love for rouge red. Miley has worn two red jumpsuits, Rachel Zoe ‘Edith II’ to the designer’s Fall 2013 Show (the same day as the Maison Martin Magiela Moto Jacket), and Valentino ‘Cady’ while performing at the B96 Pepsi Summer Bash in Chicago. Both of these jumpsuits have v-cuts and are cinched in at the waist. She also worn a black & white jumpsuit, a Valentino Strapless Bow Back Jumpsuit. I love the bow detail at the back, and she wore this to the Maxim Hot 100 Party in LA, for which she topped #1 on the Hot 100 List! At Miley’s upcoming album’s listening party, she wore a Maison Martin Magiela Spring 2013 grey jumpsuit that features a heart shaped bustier and an open scoop back, which we’ve seen on Victoria Beckham earlier this month. And don’t forget that amazing jumpsuit by Balmain Spring Summer 2013 at the Billboard Awards. The stunning black & white jumpsuit made of crochet and sequins, with a checkered pattern along the inner legs and chest area, as well as on the back.
Red Carpet Glamour
White is a risky dress colour, but Miley did it justice in Azzaro Couture Spring Summer 2013. The floor-length white crepe jersey dress has an open back with hanging straps, embroidered with pearls and crystals. At the City Of Hope Gala last October, Miley donned a white two-piece by Temperley London. Her round-studded zip top and wide-legged satin trousers were a perfect match to her short blonde pixie cut. Before her performance at the VH1 Divas, Miley walked the carpet in a black number; Omo by Norma Kamali ‘Alligator’ Dress with diamond cut-out details at the sides and underarms. This high neck longsleeve dress looks great on Miley, showing off her body in all the right places. At the Pre-Grammy Gala Honouring LA Reid, Ms Cyrus wore an Emilio Pucci Spring 2013 dress, a racer-back mini dress with Asian-inspired front embroidery with a flowing sheer veiling. I do wish Miley had worn pump heels instead of the Versace thigh-high leather black boots though. Finally, one of my fav black looks by Miley was at the MTV Video Music Awards back in September. She wore Emilio Pucci Fall 2012, a black gown with sheer panels, a wide plunge and a flowy train.
