The annual MuchMusic Video Awards were held in Toronto on Sunday evening, and sadly only a handful of stars walked the red carpet in awe-admiring fashion. The open-air show included performances and awards, and here are Killer Fashion’s best dressed on the night.

Pretty Little Ladies

Actress and Canadian Shay Mitchell graced the red carpet in a gorgeous two-piece by Clover Canyon. The neoprene crop top and mini skirt ensemble features geometric owl print graphics in hues of blue and orange with blocks of black too.  The Pretty Little Liars star teamed her sexy look with metallic silver patent heels and a sparkling rhinestone-covered oval clutch, both by Jimmy Choo. As well as a sparkling layered ring and white manicure, Shay finished her look with soft curls and a metallic green smokey eye. Gorgeous!

Keeping Shay company was her Pretty Little Liars co-star, Lucy Hale, donning a cute white number by Amen Couture. Her cocktail dress was summery and sweet, with sequin and floral appliqué on the upper bodice and a wide scoop neckline. Lucy completed her with Casadei ‘Blade’ Pumps in purple satin, and a Kotur ‘Glitter Globe’ perspex box clutch. Smokey cat eyes and pink matte lipstick finished her look.

White Hot Baby

White was on trend at the MMVAs too, Taylor Swift looked stunning in her white & black Hervé Léger by Max Azria Pre Fall 2013 bandage dress. The white dress, which was shortened to that of the Lookbook version, was accented with black stripes and teamed with black Christina Louboutin ‘Karin’ booties. Taylor kept it simple with Lorraine Schwartz bracelets and rings, red lipstick, cat eyeliner and wavy tousled hair. Taylor also won Your Fave International Artist/Group.

Laura Vandervoort also rocked white on the red carpet, her Alexander Wang bodycon racer back dress was smoking hot, that features suspension detail along the hemline of the skirt and at the back on the t-bar. She matched the white with nude patent peeptoe heels by Jimmy Choo ‘Vibe’ and a small red with gold trim Diane von Furstenberg box clutch, and finished off her look with gold accent jewellery. Laura’s fabulous wavy blonde hair was also accented with side cornrow braids and sexy smokey eyes.

Irish twin entertainers Jedward also attended in white tuxedo jackets with black lapels and trims, black jeans, white shirts with black buttons and red bow ties. They teamed their tux looks with gold studded black Converse sneakers and their signature hair.

Rock’n’Roll Reppin

Demi Lovato wore a stunning black jersey dress by Saint Laurent. The silhouette dress features long sleeves with bold shoulders, a high neckline and its main feature, the lines of silver-tone chain and black suede. Demi’s thigh-high dress was styled with Saint Laurent ‘Janis’ black leather heels and a gold studded black manicure. Her platinum blonde hairdo and signature black eye make up complimented the whole look perfectly. Demi later performed Heart Attack and Give Your Heart a Break on stage, wearing a very rugged look, donning black & faux leather MinkPink ‘London Is Calling’ Leggings, a black mini dress, The Ragged Priest ‘Boneyard’ Biker Jacket over the dress and Topshop ARELIA Stud Strap Western Boots, and styled this look with long silver chains. I wasn’t fond of the performance attire, because it makes Demi look even shorter than her petite height. Demi also won International Video of the Year for “Heart Attack”.

Avril Lavigne made Canada proud walking the carpet with fiancé Chad Kroeger. Avril wore a black midi dress, with large ruffle detail on the front and a high neckline. Avril styled the dress with Jeffrey Campbell ‘Madame Spike’ black heels, and added more spikes with a leather spike adorned crown, one fingerless leather glove on the right hand and a leather spike bracelet on the left wrist. Black smokey eyes and a nude lippy completed the look. She later changed into another all-black look for her performance of Here’s To Never Growing Up, for which Avril also won International Video of the Year by a Canadian.

Actress Brittany Snow attended wearing ALICE by Temperley London Pre-Fall 2013. Her navy dress has black waistband and a sheer with black polka dots overlay, with black pipe lining. It was summery yet dark, sweet yet sassy. Brittany teamed the dress with black Brian Atwood ‘Karin’ platform sandals, a hot pink crocskin box clutch by Nancy Gonzalez, jewellery by both Dana Rebecca Designs and Graziela, and finished with pink lipstick and black eyeliner.
