High Glamour

Blake Lively was as alive as her name, wearing a Gucci Première gown. This amazing gown was simple at the top, and dramatic at the bottom. The custom dress showed off Blake’s fashion flair, with a plain pale mint green strapless bodice that transformed into a tiered black ruffle skirt and train, with silver and grey accents in the middle. The dress was matched with a soft structured ponytail and Lorraine Schwartz jewellery.

Actress Naomie Harris added colour to the red carpet, wearing a beautiful gown by Donna Karan. Her purple draped gown was asymmetrical and also transformed into a frou-frou skirt and train in shades of dark purple and black. Naomie finished with a bouffant updo and silver jewellery. She looked radiant.

Nina Dobrev absolutely worked this outfit! The actress wore an interesting creation by Monique Lhuillier. She wore an all black ensemble, a black lace pantsuit and nude & black mesh corset, and all of this was finished with an amazing leather halter and a tulle overskirt. Nina wore black & silver gem drop earrings, large black rings and Rupert Sanderson pointed patent pumps. What a fierce piece of work!

Beloved Jessica Alba repped Tony Burch in a black and white laser cut with cut out panels full-length gown. Her amazing dress is so intricate and yet such a statement, that I’m glad she wore an interesting updo; a bun with a braid down the back, and snake ear cuffs on by Jack Vartanian, ‘Marquise’ side-spiked clutch and ‘Charleze’ strappy leather sandals, both by Christian Louboutin.

Showstopping & Beautiful

Kirsten Dunst isn’t a favourite of mine, but I give this look the thumbs up fo sho! The actress attended wearing Louis Vuitton Fall 2013 RTW, a dark green deep-v plunge halter, full length feathered gown. The feathered skirt worked in a gradient from pale to dark green, and was accented by waistbelt. The top of the halter was also detailed in a patterned brown to green gradient.

Like Miss Dunst, actress Cameron Diaz isn’t a personal favourite, but her outfit to the Gala looked pretty darn good. Sporting a custom Stella McCartney gown, the sleek blue dress with spiked black accented belt also featured a waterfall cape, to just show off the dress from the belt down. Though her au natural make up looks good, with her blonde hair and that black eyeliner, her face seems lost within the look’s entirety. Stella McCartney accessories finished her look.

From JLaw to JLo, Jennifer Lopez wowed in a nude and black sequined dress. Her Michael Kors gown featured leopard-like print, was full length and fully sleeved, open at the back and also has a slight train. JLo’s curves were visible but well covered, and she brought the theme to life without being overly sexy. Her fauxhawk updo and smokey eye make up added to the oomph, complete with Jimmy Choo Swarovski encrusted heels and minimal jewellery.

Nicki Minaj graced the MET Gala red carpet for the first time this year, and wore a sleek midnight blue front-knotted Tommy Hilfiger dress, that showed off her sides but kept her chest well covered. The look, which also had a train, was styled with a yellow-gold encrusted necklace, gold glitter platforms, a stud-covered Brian Atwood box clutch, dark red lippy, faux lashes & eyeliner and a tight frizzed fro. I do like this look, it’s rather demure for Queen of the Barbz, and as her first appearance, I’m happy she didn’t go OTT.
