Yves Saint Laurent

I’m a huge fan of make up, although i’m not the most skilled make up artist yet. My current favourite brand for cosmetics is designer Yves Saint Laurent. I have been using their cosmetics for two years now, since before my 21st birthday, and was first introduced by my late mother years before. Though their products seem expensive because they’re designer brand, they are worth the value. Here’s a look at my favourite products, that i use on a regular basis. All of their products are available to buy in Brown Thomas and online at YSL Beauty.

Le Teint Touche Éclat Foundation (BD50) – this is a super light foundation. You only need a pea amount of this to cover your face, which i use with my Models Own Foundation Brush. I get a really great coverage with this because it’s so easy to spread and blends perfectly, and definitely doesn’t make my make up look ‘cakey’. It’s a really good base for all skin tones, as there are many different shades, all which use SPF19 broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection. Ask your local YSL representative which shade suits you best.

Forever Youth Liberator Eye Crème – this cream is a little saviour of mine. I apply the tiniest amount to my under-eyes. Its benefits are its anti-wrinkle lift, anti-puffiness and brightens dark circles. It glides on and its soothing ingredients refresh and relax the eye area, while the micro-shimmer particles in it provide smoothing and illuminating effects. Perfect! You can use it on a daily basis on clean skin, or atop the foundation before using a highlighter, as recommended by my YSL rep.

Touche Éclat (2.5 Luminous Vanilla) – this famous highlighter pen is a beauty must-have! It helps dark circles, fine lines and signs of fatigue disappear with just one click per eye. I use the Forever Youth cream first, and then with one click i dot the Touche Éclat atop it, around my under-eye before blending. It helps illuminate your eyes and skin, creating a fresh look. I do recommend to ask your local YSL representative which shade suits you best.

Volume Effet Faux Cils (1 High Density) & Shocking (No.1 Deep Black) – just as famous as the Touche Éclat, is this YSL signature mascara. I do have both the original and the Shocking version of the Volume Effet Faux Cils mascara, both in black. The original applies easily to my lashes and gives it a great blackened coverage, and with its pro-vitamin B5 and aloe vera it strengthens the lashes too. Shocking applies an even blacker, fuller coverage with its creamy texture. I usually apply a clear mascara and then two coats of this YSL mascara.

Waterproof Eye Pencil (No.1 Black Ink) – a great eyeliner pencil. This trusty pencil is extremely long-lasting when applied. I usually go for two-three layers of this eyeliner, and because it’s waterproof it will stay on your eyes for up to 16 hours. It’s a great addition to create smokey and dramatic eye looks. Use a high-quality sharpener to keep this in good shape.
