Best Dressed at the BRITs 2013

Yesterday marked the biggest annual night in British music, the BRIT Awards 2013. Before all the fabulous people entered The O2, London, they wowed on the carpet. The red carpet was an interesting mix, so here are the best dressed from last night.

BRIT Awards 2013
Taylor Swift was by far one of the best dressed and one of my favourites. She wore a stunning floor-length black gown by Elie Saab. The Pre-Fall 2013 dress featured sheer panels at the thigh to the floor, and on shoulders to the back. The dress was teamed with the original gold ridged waist belt, Giuseppe Zanotti gold wave sandals and a gold metal cuff and gold triangle drop earrings. She looked so fierce! Taylor also performed “I Knew You Were Trouble.”, and naturally changed into Outfit #2. The on-stage look was very couture (possibly Elie Saab Haute Couture SS13); a white full-length ball gown, with lace and nude panels, embroidered by silver glitter. The gown featured 3D-like ruffles and a full neck collar. Halfway through the performance Taylor switched it up, removing the gown and popping out in a short black lace and gold appliqué playsuit. The playsuit was intricately embroidered with minor nude panels on the front, but all the black lace covered up well. She wore knee-high boots with gold gems for this final number.

Jessie J wore Versace Fall 2013/2014 which hasn’t even been revealed yet! The dress was a black deep-v plunge, long-sleeved piece with an asymmetrical skirt. She teamed the dress with a gold Medusa belt, black pointed patent heels by Jimmy Choo, statement earrings and a vintage Susan Caplan 1980s pyramid gold ring. Her make up and hairstyle were both very clean. Very elegant!

Multi nominee Paloma Faith opted for Dolce & Gabbana, donning a stunning bejeweled dress from Spring 2012 RTW. The dress is nude lace with an array of rainbow coloured crystal embellishments all over, and on the shoulder & neckline. Paloma didn’t stop there with her colourful crystals, she even wore a beautiful floral hair brooch, large crystal embellished earrings and an oversized ring! She finished the look with back studded nude heels, hot pink lipstick and winged eyeliner. I love this colourful and fun look.

Little Mix were very much on point at the BRITs last night. Perrie Edwards wore a cute lilac mini dress with a peplum-like skirt finish by Natalia Kaut  and floral crown, all which matched her lilac toned hair. She also wore Carvela Kurt Geiger white silhouette platforms, with zip detailing at the back. Jesy Nelson was very va-va-voom in a nude and black silhouette leather bandage dress, by Celeb Boutique. She brought sexy to life with side waves, studded Impero London cuff bracelets, statement diamond-shaped earrings, KG Kurt Geiger studded black platform heels and smokey make up. Fierce! Leigh-Anne Pinnock opted for a full-length clean white gown with a deep-v plunge. Gold hoop earrings and a gold cuff bracelet, her signature updo and scarf finished the look. Finally, Jade Thirlwall also went for a cute outfit, she wore an interesting colourful dress that had glitzy fish scale panels, ruffles at hem and shoulders, large hair bow. As a group they looked very different from one another, but all looked beautiful.

Fellow X Factor contestants One Direction, and winners on the night for BRITs Global Success, looked truly dapper at the awards. On the red carpet they all wore suits, bar Liam. Liam Payne wore the suit pants and shoes, but opted for an Alexander McQueen cardigan with a gold embroidered dragonfly on the pocket. Louis Tomlinson went for the full suit also by Alexander McQueen, with satin lapels, a polka-dot shirt, brown shoes but in Louis tradition, no socks. Zayn Malik wore a velvet slimfit blazer by ASOS, complete with contrasting notched lapels & pockets. Zayn wore a clean white shirt with a black string ribbon bow tie, with patent black shoes. Irishman Niall Horan also wore ASOS, a full suit with a round-necked shirt and silver glitter Vans. Lastly, Harry Styles went all out in Burberry Prorsum. His dinner jacket suit had silk & satin peak lapels and lining, and he teamed the suit with a matching brand acorn printed shirt, and a white flower.

Irish TV and BRITs backstage presenter Laura Whitmore looked stunning on the night. She wore an Irish designer too, Zoë Jordan, a metallic rose gold mini dress. She teamed the look with nude pointed heels, a Monica Vinader gold cuff, rings and bracelets.

Another X Factor favourite Rebecca Ferguson took to the carpet in a black and nude number. Her dress had black sequin and lace appliqué on the upper half, with a simple straight black skirt and a thigh-high cut to finish. Her shoes however, are a baffling choice; a gem-covered silver cut out peeptoe platforms. A gold or colourful shoe would’ve been a better option. However, her hair & make up were definitely on point.

Finally Robbie Williams performed and presented last night, and looked very dapper indeed. He performed in a royal blue three piece suit, which was a very clean look, with black and white-soled sneakers. For his presenting role he changed into a plum purple suit with black lapels, and wore smart shoes instead. Very handsome indeed!
